I have seen calendars like you are designing before but have always considered them too hard to use. Make sure the user doesn't need fine grained mouse handling to use it.

How do you handle countries with a 24 hour clock?

Dick: Cozi is currently focused on the U.S. market, so we haven't been forced to address 24 hour support yet. I actually think simply showing 24 hour times (13:00, 14:00, etc.) down the right column might turn out to work just fine. It probably wouldn't hurt to keep the AM/PM meridiem row at the top, but could kill it if users in those countries found it distracting. Beyond that, I think everything else in the design should hold up.

Countries with a 24 hour clock tend to have another division of the day: from 0:00 till 8:00, from 8:00 till 18:00 and from 18:00 till 24:00. For such countries the division in two columns looks a bit artificial.
